absolute gongshow

sorry for taking forever to post again. i left vancouver a lot sooner than i had planned. and now im all moved in for another college year. not really looking forward to it starting... but at least i have my freedom to party 24/7 again.
anywho, carrying on... this was my last night at home and it was jordan's 19th birthday. we did a cocktail party and had a ghetto bar outside.

...and since jordan loves red stripes so much, his daddy bought us a bunch (which we finished even before people got there).
...and as the red stripes are being consumed, the boys start getting rowdy, jumping over things and getting grass rashes. looks like fun and not-leapable for me. but here's what went on.

i know i said that i would be posting people in cocktail attire... but since no one really dressed up and since i was wasted before everyone/anyone arrived, i wasnt able to take any photos... but i'll post up some fancy ensembles for cocktail parties.

dress like a scholar

as you may have heard, oxfords are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY in (again). wait, i wasnt aware that they were ever out. i feel so intelligent wearing oxfords. so if you want to feel smrt like me, here are a bunch of fabulous looking oxfords for you.

these are by Aerosoles that i found on plain jayne but when i actually went on the aerosoles site, i couldnt find these...sooooo if you find them, lemme know.
and this gorgeous one is from United Colors of Benetton. i love these. i'd say this is my favourite out of any ive seen on any shoe site.
here's a bunch for you from plain jayne. not my kinda oxford but could be yours!

and finally, the Miss Sixty's that's definitely not in my price range but one's that are on my wish list. i love these because they look so classy and chic. i love them. i'd get them if you can afford them. (thanks: plain jayne)

hopster fashion pous vous

this is from the Bittersweet fall collection 2007 straight outta hawai'i, my nostalgic home. there's a great collection coming out so keep a look-out if you like sweet photo-graphic tees. some are explicit so there's your warning.
there is so much happening with the Adidas collections recently, that i feel like i'm not totally up to date... but here are the newest designs for you.

Adidas Vintage Snakeskin Pack
... and yesterday's "Something For The Ladies" Pack.

oh and for those of you who havent been updated with the louis vuitton x takashi murakami collaboration collection of limited edition handbags and petite leather goodies ($875~925). here you are. takashi murakami's retrospective collection is being exhibited at L.A's MoCA so if you're in that area you should check it out. and if you do, let me know how it is because i would love to go!!!!! its happening from october 29th through february 11th. heads up because this is the first for an american museum to exhibit his holiness.this is how Murakami's exhibit is going to be appearing at MoCA. i think its hilarious that it is going to be a shop in a museum. this is a non-profit museum so they get no cut of his sales or or space rental fee from vuitton. sweeeet.
supertouch blog writes: MOCA Chief Curator Paul Schimmel in an effort to highlight the inherently commercial aspect of Murakami’s work, as expressed by his personal “Superflat” manifesto. In the eyes of Schimmel, it seems, the act of viewers buying Murakami’s bags in the midst of a formal museum exhibition helps “break down the boundaries between low and high art” (a key concept of Murakami’s philosophy) and allows the viewer to interact with the artist’s work firsthand.

get with it: cool people wear cool colours

fall/winter calls for cool colours - especially slate, greys, navy, and cream colours.
since nicole richie has become preggers, she's definitely gained intelligence with what to wear in a chic and fabulous fashion.
(thank you: Uber Chic)

men of the day: a great hopster

i love men's fashion. there's just a great variety of styles that yes, i know women also have but for some reason, men wearing fabulous clothing is just not the same. like this young gentleman posing in paris (taken by facehunter). not only is his ensemble great but he carries himself like he's a model, and that's probably what i love most about this gentleman. oh, and that he could be a hipster but he's too glam to be one... so i'd dub him - a hopster.
(thank you: facehunter)

everything beautiful is FAR away

goooood morning. its a another gorgeous day in vancouver today. i am going to go take a couple shots down on the beach today then marinate goodies at jordan's house for the bbq tomorrow night. now to move onto serious business.
why is it that everything i want is so damn far away? like this girl (who is in athens) in this shirt. its beautiful. in case you dont know the reference, its D.A.N.C.E by Justice. you're behind if you dont know this song. go GET ON IT.

(thank you: we need fashion/athens)

on another note, copenhagen really has the hottest people and people with natural fashion sense. i'd be head over heels with every step i take. these photos are taken by facehunter at the copenhagen fashion week.
(thank you: facehunter)

popped the cherry

So as of now, I'm sure I'm just talking to myself since no one knows of my blog. But I thought I'd write a welcome entry since I'm so stoked on my first blog. Oh, and I thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm a junior in college this year. Fine arts (photography) major and Japanese minor. I really want to get into some branch of fashion. Ideally, I would love to be a wardrobe...designer? assistant? Well, I like going shopping for other people, and I like pleasing people with clothes IN EVERY WAY.
This year, I am starting an independent project. My plan is to take photos of fashionable people around campus and around town (like Facehunter) and start making up a portfolio and hopefully I get recognized for them.
On top of posting fabulously dressed people, I'll be posting random stuff (juicy news, trend-alerts, artwork, music... and who knows what more).
Anyway, that's all I have to say so I'm outtie.
